Frequently asked questions

It all began with a simple idea fueled by a deep passion. As a small business, we pride ourselves on personal attention and dedication to every detail. Our approach is rooted in quality and integrity, ensuring that everything we do reflects our commitment to excellence.

What kind of leather do you use?

Leathers used by GLC tend to be mostly cow, deer, and sheep leather. Some of our more exotic leathers are ostrich, buffalo, stingray, eel, shark, and lizard. This is part of why our pricing may be more than what people expect; not only are they paying for quality, but they are paying for the hard-to-get leathers as well.

Are Garnette Leather Company products made from genuine leather or vegan leather?

All leather products sold by Garnette Leather Company are made from genuine leather rather than synthetic or produce-based material.

Are your dyes and finishes safe and long-lasting?

Our dyes and stains soak into the leather, providing a long-lasting appearance. While we do seal our stains and paints, we don't recommend anything but our veg-tan leather and natural buffalo products to be used for animal or child use.

Do you accept custom orders or personalization requests?

While custom orders are fun, Garnette Leather Company is not currently taking customization or personalization requests; there is not currently a high enough demand to add this to our services, and the time commitment for customization/personalization is incredibly large.

Can I choose my leather color, size, or design?

At this time, customization isn't accepted for size, design, or color requests.

How should I care for my leather product?

While leather can't break unless severely damaged, it's good practice to keep your product out of excessive moisture, direct sunlight, and extreme heat. We suggest conditioning your product every few months with a leather balm to keep the material moist as well.

Will leather scratch or change over time?

Leather is a natural product and will scratch/change over time. Proper care and conditioning of the leather can minimize this, but wear is to be expected.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping can take between 7-14 business days depending on order size, price, and stock availability.

Do you offer international shipping?

At this time, international shipping is not an option.

What is your return/exchange policy?

Garnette Leather Company is happy to do returns or exchanges so long as the item is in sellable condition. If you would like to return or exchange the item, please contact us at garnetteleathercompany@gmail.com

Do you accept repairs or replacements for damaged items?

Some repairs and replacements, such as manufacturer error, are accepted. We do not repair items not purchased from GLC.

Are your products handmade?

Every item sold by Garnette Leather Company is handmade. Miss Millissa Garnette, owner and founder, prefers products made with passion and dedication, and teaches each apprentice to stitch, stain, and cut their pieces by hand.

Do you use sustainable or eco-friendly practices?

One of Garnette Leather Company's prides is zero-waste; many leather remnants are repurposed for smaller items or for training pieces for apprentices. Even scraps too small to craft with are used to bring our dragons to life.

Where are you based?

Garnette Leather Company is based out of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and serves the Southeast Idaho region.

Do you sell wholesale or bulk orders?

At this time, we do not offer wholesale or bulk orders.
